They're coming from Canada, they're coming from the Netherlands, they're coming from across the US, and they're coming to Philadelphia to perform at the Bravo! Music Festival in style. With Canada's Yannick Nézet-Séguin once more returning to lead The Philadelphia Orchestra, this year's Bravo! promises to be a wonderful, musical experience.
A high-powered roster of international conductors will pass through the Bravo! Vail music festival this summer. Dutch maestro Jaap van Zweden came and went last week with the rising Dallas Symphony Orchestra, just off its successful European tour. And American star Alan Gilbert arrives July 19 with the fest's top dog, the heralded New York Philharmonic.
Still, the most-anticipated moment of the 2013 season is the return of the lesser-known Canadian, Yannick Nézet-Séguin, who will lead The Philadelphia Orchestra through three concerts starting Wednesday.
