When someone misplaced their briefcase at the Charlotte Amtrak Station, the reasonable thing was done and everyone was evacuated from the building for an hour. Likewise, hazmat crews and police were brought in to determine that, no, it wasn't a bomb. It was just a normal briefcase someone left behind.
A misplaced briefcase led to the evacuation of the Charlotte Amtrak Station Monday morning.
Hazmat crews from the Charlotte Fire Department responded around 10 a.m. to 1914 N. Tryon Street.
The station was evacuated for about an hour.
No injuries were reported, according to the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department.
