Bad weather has been to blame for the soggy goodbyes to New Orleans’s Carnival season. Sunday’s shows were able to be continued but unfortunately Mondays weren’t as lucky. The shows had to be canceled do to bad weather. Lets hope next years event is a bit dryer.
NEW ORLEANS – Carnival parades managed to roll Sunday in New Orleans despite bad weather, but revelers might not be so lucky on Monday.
Parades planned for Fat Monday, or Lundi Gras (LUHN-dee grah), are threatened by more rain in the forecast.
That includes the Krewe of Orpheus, the star-studded group led by entertainer Harry Connick Jr. It was scheduled to roll at 6 p.m. Monday, with Connick, actor Gary Sinise and New Orleans musician Troy "Trombone Shorty" Andrews.
