Likely the most fun that anyone could ever have at an orchestra, the Boston Pops display their raw musical talent through reimagining some of the most famous melodies in popular culture as well as some light classical music. Founded in 1885, they have a rich history of exceptional shows and are widely popular across the United States. They have a full Spring season of shows as well as a holiday show in December, all of which are highly attended.
However, the most popular of the shows they perform each year is by far their July 4 celebratory event. With around 500,000 people attending and millions more watching on television the Boston Pops consistently draw great reviews from critics and regular attendees alike. One of the more well-liked things about the Boston Pop’s July 4 shows is that they run an American-Idol like talent search that pits singers from YouTube against each other where the winner gets to perform on stage with them.
They truly do offer some of the best live music and culture in Boston.
