 explorechicago.org Chicago is known for many things and music is one of them. Every year thousands of people gather for the Chicago Blues Festival located at Grant Park. This is a three day festival starting around the second weekend of June. Grant Park becomes an enormous playground for musicians that come from around the world.
With five stages around the park you’re sure to get an earful of just about every one of your favorite jazz musicians. Who knows maybe you will here are a couple of new ones that you’ve never heard before and you can add them to your repertoire of music.
The original festival started in 1984 and over the years became known as the largest “free” blues festival in the world. Over the years this festival has seen the likes of such entertainers as: Muddy Waters, T-Bone Walker, Honey Boy Edwards and so many more that the list goes on and on.
Get ready to gear up for two days of the best blues music you’ll ever hear. There is a good possibility that the festival that “you” just happen to attend could be another milestone in making history as you hear it. There will be plenty of vendors in the park to meet all of your food and drink needs so don’t worry about packing that brown bag. Have a great time.
