Spread across two 1940s-era maintenance hangars, the Delta Heritage Museum is an interesting location to learn more about the company and aviation in general. With numerous exhibitions and facilities on site, this museum is also a great place to spend a day in Atlanta while also learning a thing or two about this successful transportation company.
Some of the more popular exhibits at the Delta Heritage Museum include their first 767 called “The Spirit of Delta,” the first passenger DC-3 “Ship 41” used by Delta and winner of the National Trust for Historic Preservation award, and the company’s first ever passenger aircraft a 1931 Travel Air.
With many more large and inspirational exhibits throughout the site and a gift shop at the end of the museum, this is one of the more impressive locations to visit in Atlanta and provides a great way to for a family to spend a day learning and exploring the fascinating world of aviation.
