The San Francisco region has long been known for great wines among other things. Within the next couple of week there will be several food and wine tasting event that you will be able to assist. Most of these events will feature snaking foods with great wine tasting. Be sure to attend at least one of these events.

Wine tasting: Villa del Monte Winery will be open for wine tasting from noon-5 p.m. Jan. 26-27, 23076 Summit Road, Los Gatos. The winery is donating $1 per bottle from sales at the winery through March, to local nonprofit Grind Out Hunger.www.villadelmontewinery.com.
Soup and Wine Weekend: Sample soups and breads, taste award-winning wines and spend an afternoon in Fenestra's historic winery building. The cost is $15 and includes a wine glass, buffet plate, soup samples and recipes. "Fanatics" and nondrinkers are $5. Noon-5 p.m. Jan. 26-27.
