 George Skene/Orlando Sentinal The all-new Taqueria del Sol has taken the city of Orlando by storm. The restaurant specializes in Mexican, southern and southwestern dishes. The restaurant, which opened last October, has already achieved many accolades and has no intention of stopping there.
Newcomer Taqueria del Sol has a coveted pedigree that's rare among fast-casual eateries: Founder Mike Klank and chef Eddie Hernandez have been nominated twice for the James Beard Foundation Award of Excellence for Outstanding Restaurateur. The chain also has been spotlighted by Bon Appétit magazine and the Food Network as a "Top American Restaurant."
You don't have to twist my arm with accolades like that.
The restaurant, which opened in October in a space formerly occupied by O'Boys Bar-B-Q in south Orlando, specializes in Southern, Mexican and Southwestern dishes.
