During the summer months of June, July, and August at Bryant Park, you’ll be able to enjoy some of the most nostalgic and famous films ever produced. This wonderful summer film festival offers an opportunity for every one who is looking to spend time with family, friends or that special someone.
Each Monday at 5:00 PM large crowds will gather on the lawn, to enjoy a wide variety of films that may range from horror films, mysteries, or simply family-friendly films such as the classic children’s film the Wizard of Oz. The films will typically start between 8:00 PM and 9:00 PM. Expect a high number of attendees to these screenings and be sure to arrive early enough to obtain seating. At times the crowds will reach numbers as high as 10,000 people.
This open air event is put on by HBO every summer and continues to be one of Bryant Parks’s favorite traditions. There are areas located within the park where you’ll be able to throw down a blanket and enjoy a simple picnic before the film begins. Make sure that you check the rules and regulations that are set forth by the park for this special event.
