Let’s be honest for a moment, when people mention Boston, having a great time with the family just is not something that normally comes to mind. Awesome street food, unique slang and the Boston Red Sox are what most people immediately think about when they hear this city mentioned; however, that really isn’t the case in regards to all the things to do in Boston with your family in tow. While Boston’s Six Flags theme park receives low reviews and just isn’t a recommended destination for families, the sincerely fun-for-the-family options lay in the charm of the city itself.
While it might be hard for visitors or tourists to really know what is around Boston to do with their kids, a little bit of time invested on research will yield some amazing ideas for your vacation. One particular idea that every kid will love is to hit up the various ice cream spots around the town as Boston is famous for having some of the best ice cream available on Earth. Likewise, having a picnic at the Boston Common is a fun time as well, especially when the kids get to splash around in The Frog Pond. For those kids who are sports fans, the Boston Sports Museum is sure to be a hit and, for those that aren’t so much into athletics, the Boston Children’s Museum will very likely fit the bill.
As you may have noticed, the fun had in Boston doesn’t need to come from tiring theme parks or gimmicky locations, rather just good old fashioned fun and spending time as a family will have everyone loving their vacation.
