An odd mix of big names and local acts headline New Orleans nightclubs this week -- Styx, for instance, is at the House of Blues the same night the Howlin' Wolf hosts a New Orleans Musicians Clinic benefit with the New Orleans Suspects and special guest Dr. John. Tipitina's has a huge weekend, with two sold-out Radiators reunion shows and a rare club appearance by B.B. King. Those and other options for the week ahead include:
Wednesday, Jan. 16: The English Beatheadlines the House of Blues, with the Local Skankopening. Chickie Wah Wah presents singerMeschiya Lake and pianist Tom McDermott at 7 p.m., followed by harmonica player Johnny Sansone, guitarist John Fohl and singer-songwriter Seth Walker.
