Kylee, Kyary Pamyu Pamyu and dozens of other names we poor deprived westerners have likely never heard of will finally have their chance to break big in the west with their performance at San Francisco's Union Square as part of the J-Pop Summit Festival. Japanese and other far eastern artists have tried hard to break through the seemingly one-way cultural barrier that so far only PSY has managed, and this may well be their launching point. Don't miss out!
The organizers of the J-Pop Summit Festival announced on Monday that model and singer Kyary Pamyu Pamyu will perform at the event. The event will be held in San Francisco's Union Square on July 28 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Additionally, Kylee will also perform at the event, as well as singer/Harajuku model Una.
Kyary Pamyu Pamyu is performing the new theme song "Kimi ni 100 Percent" for the Crayon Shin-chan television anime series. That single premiered at #3 on Oricon's weekly sales chart. She also previously released the Kyarypamyupamyu no Ghibli Set album in 2011 that covered theme songs from various Studio Ghibli films. Last year, the singer's first album Pamyu Pamyu Revolution debuted at #1 on the United States iTunes Store's bestselling electronic album chart.
