Though the news of an attempted kidnapping itself is scary as heck to hear about, especially for parents, every once in a while something so impressive happens that we absolutely have to talk about it. In a wild adoption case, a woman attempted to kidnap a teenager so the teen would sign papers allowing the woman to adopt the teen's baby. Thankfully, though, on their way to Philadelphia, the teen was able to get the attention of an officer in a pretty daring manner: She slammed the vehicle into the patrol car, prompting, for once, a quick reaction time from police.
A Wildwood woman is in custody after she allegedly kidnapped a teen mom because she wanted to adopt her baby, according to the Press of Atlantic City.
Police say Floribert Nava, 45, was involved in a dispute with the girl over the adoption of a recently born child. According to the Atlantic City Press, the teen was the child's biological mother and she recently gave her baby up for adoption to a couple in Philadelphia. Nava, however, desperately wanted to adopt the child instead.
On Friday, Nava met the girl in Wildwood, according to police. During the meeting, Nava allegedly pulled out a gun and forced the girl to drive to Philadelphia, telling her that she wanted to be taken to the baby’s adoptive parents.
