There's plenty to do in London, but the summer season has arrived and that means some of the hottest days of the year. With the heat comes summer fun, however, and Thames Rockets is stepping up to the plate with a pretty awesome offering – an intense, fast paced speedboat ride down the Thames river.
Anyone who watched David Beckham commandeering a speedboat down the Thames as part of the opening ceremony for the Olympic Games last summer will soon have a chance to follow in his wake.
A new boat ride, Thames Rockets, takes to the waters of the capital's river at the end of July and will whizz passengers past London's famous sights at speeds of up to 40mph.
Starting from St Katharine's Dock, passengers will be taken on a 40-minute journey east to the Thames Barrier, while listening to snippets from The Beatles, Boris Johnson and the theme from Eastenders.
