 Spanish Railway News As part of a joint effort between numerous European states to integrate their public transport infrastructure and dramatically increase the efficiency of transport interchange stations, a welcome boon to travelers to the region, the Madrid Consortium will take a leadership position in the project, administering over the technological aspects of the entire 18 institution-wide project.
The Madrid Consortium will also be in charge of the technical leadership of the whole project, which includes the participation of 18 institutions devoted to public transport in Europe. The main objectives of the project are defining strategies to integrate urban planning with infrastructure planning; developing new tools to achieve more efficient transport interchange stations; improving the information and operation of the interchange stations; promoting business and maintenance models that help the economy and the economic viability of these transport infrastructures and building energy-efficient interchange stations.
