Jose Reyes Former Miami Marlin player was recently traded to the Blue Jays. There seems to be nothing abnormal about that except that two days before he was traded the Marlins owner was trying to convince Reyes to invest in a home in Miami implying that he wouldn’t be traded.
DUNEDIN, Fla. — If it wasn't bad enough that Jose Reyes was traded one year into his six-year contract by the Miami Marlins to the Toronto Blue Jays, Reyes divulged Friday that he was intentionally misled.
Marlins owner Jeffrey Loria actually tried to persuade Reyes to buy a house in the Miami market, Reyes said, just days before he was traded.
"Two days before the trade, I was having dinner with him in New York,'' Reyes said. "He was talking about getting a nice house in Miami. That was kind of crazy. How do you want me to spend some money in Miami when I have my house in New York, and you are going to trade me in two days? …
