Mean Creek Though Karmin and David Wax Museum put up an impressive effort, Mean Creek left all competition behind at the Boston Music Awards celebrated Sunday night at the Liberty Hotel. The night was described as “delightful mayhem,” an event to remember that fused the unpredictable with the best of this year's musical talents.
You want the Boston Music Awards in a single band? Mean Creek.
There were so many great minor moments at last night’s BMAs at the Liberty Hotel — and I’ll get to a half dozen of them in a minute. But it was Mean Creek who won big and absolutely crushed it with a performance across the river at Redstar Studios.
The other top winners were Karmin and David Wax Museum — check out my recap of the winners here or scroll to the bottom of the page. But those two were across the country for West Coast gigs. Mean Creek was here. Well, the band was a mile from the Liberty in the tiny, high-tech, hi-def, Redstar pounding away at a set of songs from Album of the Year “Youth Companion.”
