This weekend will bring the opening of yet another Las Vegas attraction: the Neon Museum. Promising guests the allure of twinkling lights and electrically charged neon gas in glass tubes molded to create intricate, attention grabbing designs. The Neon Museum will be fun and interesting for the whole family and provide vacationers a bright destination to spend some time at.
"The Boneyard" in Las Vegas, which has been an offbeat tourist attraction for those in the know. Now the outdoor site is being expanded into a full-fledged Neon Museum that opens to the public Saturday in downtown Las Vegas. There will be a new visitors' center and an expanded Boneyard.
In addition to signs scattered on the ground, you can see restored, electrified neon in what the museum calls a "Downtown Gallery" on Fremont Street and along parts of Las Vegas Boulevard downtown.
That includes the old Chief Court Motel and Aladdin signs that now are installed along downtown's Fremont Street between Las Vegas Boulevard and Third Street.
