CARLSBAD (CNS) - Legoland California is in the process of hiring 250 employees to staff its hotel, which is slated to open in April, park General Manager Peter Ronchetti announced Thursday.
"It's hard to believe we were standing here a little more than a year ago -- in this exact spot which was formerly a parking lot -- announcing the start of construction for our new hotel," Ronchetti said at a news conference. "With new additions each year, Legoland California Resort is a multi-day
destination and proves all the more the great need for this multimillion-dollar hotel now almost completely built behind me."
He said the theme park now employs more than 1,600 workers.
Carlsbad Mayor Matt Hall said Legoland helps the economy of his city and the county as a whole.
