Grubb Properties Uptown Charlotte will be playing home to a brand new Luxury apartment high-rise. The complex will cost an estimated $85 million and will be completed by 2014. It will have 352 units and will be 23 stories high. Childress Klein will begin construction this coming Friday.
Another luxury apartment high-rise is heading to uptown.
A day after plans were announced for a high-rise in Fourth Ward, Childress Klein said it would begin construction Friday on a 22-story luxury apartment tower at South Mint Street and Martin Luther King Boulevard.
The project, in Third Ward near the future BB&T Ballpark, will mark the first time a developer has broken ground on a new, private commercial project in uptown since the real estate meltdown took hold.
The 352-unit, $85 million complex is expected to be finished in fall 2014, Childress Klein officials said. It will be uptown’s first high-rise to be built as apartments. Two other high-rise rentals, the Vue and Catalyst, were built as condominium projects and later converted to apartments.
