Perhaps its simply wishful thinking, but businesses are prepping for an influx of travelers and visitors to New York's Queens borough now that a special Queens focused app has been released. Meant to highlight the best features of Queens and draw potential tourists to the most exciting attractions, the potential of this shot in the dark marketing campaign is anyone's guess.
Want to experience the real Queens? Finally, there’s an app for that.
The Queens Chamber of Commerce is slated to unveil a free app, called "This is Queens," on June 26 -- part of a burgeoning effort to promote attractions throughout the "pass-through" borough and offer discounts at local businesses and attractions
“When people come through our Queens airports, they often take taxis directly to Manhattan,” said Chamber Executive Director Jack Friedman.
“We have incredible places to see from the beaches of Rockaway to the graffiti of 5Pointz in Long Island City,” he said.
