Though they started small and have had to earn their way to prominence, “America's local band” Red Wanting Blue has exploded from small Ohio band to national treasure, a change in popularity reflected by their nearly sold-out concert in Orlando. The rising stars concluded the night with a special encore absolutely demanded by their fans.
Their latest CD may be called “Vanishing Point,” but judging by their show at The Social in Orlando Friday night, the members of Indie rock band Red Wanting Blue are a long way from that point in their career. The band, based in Ohio, has been dubbed “America’s local band,” their “homey” stage set-up reinforces that label and once the band hits the stage, it’s easy to see why they have earned the nickname. Even though it was their first time playing in Orlando, they were greeted by a venue full of fans familiar with their music.
