The musical scene in San Diego is heating up with performances by the San Diego Musical Theatre making serious waves. Currently staging “The Sound of Music,” the theater has Don LeMaster, the group's musical director since it's launch in 2007, to thank for it's impressive array of musical elements.
Thanks to ambitious productions that include “Rent” and “The Full Monty,” San Diego Musical Theatre is making quite a splash in the local theater scene.
The company is currently staging “The Sound of Music,” which has been well-received by both critics and fans. (The play runs through May 26. See sdmt.org for details.)
And the man responsible for all the songs you hear is SDMT musical director Don LeMaster. Since the nonprofit theater group launched in 2007, LeMaster, 42, has been scoring, teaching and arranging the music that goes with all the musicals.
