San Diego Not a Good Retirement Choice

A report has come out that says San Diego is a terrible place for people to live in after retiring. While it's true that the cost of living in San Diego is incredibly high, it's also a spectacular city to live in no matter what stage in life one might be in.

San Diego, burdened with high housing costs, is among the 10 least affordable places to retire, according to U.S. News & World Report.

But we're not alone. Half of the cities on the list are in the Golden State, where it's apparently especially challenging to survive in your golden years.

Reporter Emily Brandon noted San Diego's mild weather, UC San Diego medical center's high reputation for geriatric care, and long-term care and assisted living costs in line with national norms.
