The latest addition to the San Francisco Zoo's tiger community has finally been allowed into the attractions outdoor tiger pen, allowing, for the first time, the public to meet face-to-face with the incredibly adorable yet soon-to-be-huge feline.
The San Francisco Zoo's 9-week-old tiger cub has spunk.
And now that she's been allowed out of her cage to explore the outdoor tiger pen, she's had just about enough of her worrywart mom, zookeepers said Thursday.
"Oh, look at her, there she goes," said Corinne MacDonald, the zoo's curator of carnivores and primates, as the cub scampered up a mossy staircase that her mom, Leanne, clearly considered off-limits. "The cub is so bad, as soon as she sees Leanne coming toward her she takes off ... just like a little kid wants to go right where Mom doesn't want her to go."
