Finding something for everyone to do in New Orleans can be daunting: the city is full of cultural intrigues, fascinating sites, and plenty of places to party but what about something to do with the family? City Putt is opening it's doors on a new miniature golf course in New Orleans City Park offering a much needed answer to the question.
New Orleans City Park cut the ribbon on its much anticipated miniature golf facility at a Friday morning ceremony, drawing a festive crowd of family groups, college students, and retirees with a nostalgic love for the pastime. About 400 players poured through the gates of City Putt in the first 30 minutes, spreading out across a pair of 18-hole courses dotted with iconic Louisiana décor.
Jim and Patsy Bates of Kenner eyed the 5th hole – a par 2 challenge framed by new shrubbery and a burbling rivulet that flows toward one of the water hazards.
“City Park is a treasure, and this kind of attraction only makes it better,” Patsy Bates said.
