Stroll 'n' Roll 2012 The Stroll 'n' Roll 2012 event being held in Orlando this weekend is a unique event in that, since it is a celebration and promotion of independent living for disabled persons, each team of strollers and rollers will be given a wheelchair to ride or push around Harbor Park.
A lot of recreational events tend to segregate the able-bodied from those with physical challenges — but not so this Saturday’s “Stroll ‘n’ Roll” in Orlando. In fact, the event requires each team to have at least one person using a wheelchair at all times.
Similar to a walk-a-thon, the Oct. 13 Stroll ‘n’ Roll rallies Central Floridians to break down barriers that affect people with disabilities — and to raise funds to help make that happen. Each team is given a wheelchair so team members can take turns rolling or walking around Harbor Park at Lake Baldwin.
