The school in Orlando that Sierra Denniston attends is very expensive. To help pay for her tuition, the 16-year old student is holding a concert on March 22. However, the concert is free, and Denniston has such faith in her talent that she's requesting donations be made directly to her school.
Sierra Denniston attends the prestigious– and extremely pricey — Interlochen Center for the Arts, an boarding high school for the fine arts in Michigan that requires auditions. Although a scholarship pays 75 percent of her tuition, the remaining costs at the $50,468-a-year school (not including fees) has proven too much for the 16-year-old Orlando resident’s family. If she is unable to catch up on tuition, she will not be able to complete her sophomore year at the school after spring break ends, Sierra wrote.
But she is not giving in. She is tapping into her talent — opera — to sing for her tuition. For that purpose, she is performing a solo concert at Park Lake Presbyterian Church in Orlando on Friday, March 22 at 7 p.m.
