Boston marks the finish line for the epic One Run For Boston cross country race that has brought dedicated athletes and average everybodys across the nation from Los Angeles to New York and beyond. With several thousand miles under their collective belts and a life experience unrivaled by any others, their glorious march into Boston will be one to remember.
Hundreds of runners from across the country have carpooled, spent savings and shared frequent flier miles to take part in the last stages late tonight of the One Run for Boston, the coast-to-coast relay that will benefit those most affected by the Boston Marathon bombings.
As of 8 p.m. ET, "Miles," the GPS-equipped plastic baton that runners have carried from Venice Beach in the Los Angeles area, was in southern Massachusetts and running behind schedule. Runners were napping, shopping and getting together to pass the time while they waited to run the last stages.
