If you feel like going all out on a bike, the annual Washington D.C. Tour de Fat right up your ally. Equal parts bike parade, beer , music, and art festival, don't forget a costume to ride around in style, and that's for both you and the bike. For an added kick, you can get a spot in the parade and a roaring good time.
If you can come up with a better way to spend your Saturday than joining the East Coast’s largest and most fanciful bike parade, music and arts fest, and beer celebration, then you’re probably a complete bore. For the rest of us, Tour de Fat is making its way back to D.C. this Saturday, June 1st.
The event starts with a bicycle parade at 11 a.m. that ends at Yards Park, right next to National's Park. Get your weird on, because costumes are highly encouraged, and feel free to dress up your bike. There really are only so many times a year a grownup living in D.C. can dress like a fairy and ride a bicycle without being committed to an asylum.
