Visiting the City of 'Brotherly Love'... Philadelphia

Everyone knows that Philadelphia has been known as the City of Brotherly Love for as long as anyone can remember. It also maintains some of the most historical buildings and landmarks in the country. Independence National Historical Park often referred to as Independence Mall covers several blocks of Old City Philadelphia. Many of these buildings are associated with colonial Philadelphia and the American Revolution.

There is a multitude of historical sites to behold within the city limits spanning over 55 acres and approximately 20 city blocks. You’ll have a chance to visit many of the historical buildings that were occupied during some of America’s most influential moments and in creating some of the most prominent documents used in establishingAmericatoday. While on this journey you will be able to view the iconic symbol of American independence, the liberty bell and learn the facts about how the famous bell became cracked.

The three main Independence National Historical Park sites are all open year round. Daily hours may very depending on legal holidays. While visiting all of these historical and monumental buildings the park is also located near many of the hundreds of gallery’s and museums and other attractions within the city. For those of you who would prefer, there are guided tours available offering you the opportunity to venture through the city with a qualified guide who will be able to educate you in a more structured environment.
