 Pedro Rufo Though Spain might currently have problems with its economy, the officials who run the World Pride event have enough confidence that the city of Madrid will be able to sufficiently host the event. With enough leisure locations and hotels to support the large festival of gay pride, Madrid is telling the world that they are still a major player in the world's tourism industry.
Seems like just yesterday we were in disbelief that it was already 2012, and we were standing on the streets of London for World Pride 2012. As we wait with anticipation to see how Toronto handles the pressures of hosting World Pride in 2014, we already have another one to look forward to—Madrid. With a unanimous vote, Madrid was awarded World Pride at a delegate meeting in Boston, Massachusetts.
