Angela Jimenez December 12th saw an impressive collaboration between Yo-Yo Ma, James Galway and Eugenia Zukerman as the trio hit Tulane University's Dixon Hall in New Orleans. Together with the Jacques Thibaud String Trio, the quartet brought the classical to roaring life and finished the night off with a touch of neoclassical artist Jean Francaix.
Yo-Yo Ma and James Galway get the pick of the litter when seeking collaborators -- and both stars have sought out flutist Eugenia Zukerman. New Orleans concertgoers can sample Zukerman’s silvery, full-throated style on Wednesday (Dec. 12) at Tulane University’s Dixon Hall.
Zukerman, who also is known for her on-air work as an arts correspondent for CBS Sunday Morning, will join the Jacques Thibaud String Trio for a program that includes quartets by Mozart and Schubert, and a duo for flute and violin by C.P.E. Bach.
