Before the cement ceremony, actor Laurence Fishburne stood at a podium to share with Keanu's family, friends and fans about his friend Keanu, one of Hollywood’s most sought after leading men with a worldwide box office total of over $4.2 billion.
With over thirty years of film credits, this passionate and courageous actor was featured in The Matrix trilogy, Speed, Generation Um, and Henry’s Crime. Not only has he starred, but in many he has produced too. In 2012, he produced the documentary Side By Side, exploring the history of film making and the impact of new digital technology. In the film, directed by Chris Kenneally, Keanu interviewed some of Hollywood’s major directors, including James Cameron, David Fincher, David Lynch, George Lucas, and Danny Boyle. One year later, Keanu made his directorial debut and starred in the Tai Chi action film, Man of Tai Chi.
Next month in June, he will lend his voice as a new character in Disney’s Toy Story 4. This will be his first role in an animated film. He is also appearing in the Netflix romantic comedy Always Be My Maybe, starring Ali Wong.
