History & Charm at Edouard VII, Paris

Luxury Hotels: A frequent haunt of the Prince of Wales, the Edouard VII Hotel was named in his honor. This boutique hotel is the only one that exists on the elegant Avenue de l'Opera in Paris and sits in close proximity to famed landmarks the Louvre Museum, Place Vendome, the Garnier Opera House, Lafayette, and the city's famous shopping.

Constructed in 1877, Edouard VII Hotel was built in a style peculiar to the age, known as the "Haussmann style". The rooms and suites at Edouard VII Hotel are large and roomy, with eye-catching draperies and furniture that harks back to the19th century. The lavishness evident through the interiors is distinctly "Haussmannien". Parquet flooring, wood paneling, Napoleon III furniture and Murano glass chandeliers all serve to highlight the posh atmosphere of the property.

Edouard VII Hotel owes its contemporary look to the architect and designer F. Foucault. Each room is equipped with a mini bar, an in-room safe deposit, cable TV and internet access. As an added bonus for animal-lovers, this hotel is one of the few that allows pets on its premises. Double glazed windows line the front of the hotel, allowing rooms to have a view of the busy city without permitting the city noise to interfere with a guests' stay.

Dining at Edouard VII Hotel is also an experience in itself. Room service provides such exotic meals as canard a l'orange and escargots with desserts like fondant or tarte to match. The hotel houses Angl'Opera restaurant which is managed by the greatly renowned chef, Gilles Choukroun. Chef Choukroun is responsible for creating unique recipes that have made the restaurant world famous.

For a drink one can avail of the cocktail bar which is in operation between 11 am to 11 pm. Edouard VII Hotel is a family-run enterprise steeped in history and charm. It was acquired in 1951 by the Corbel family; it is now being run by the third generation. With a solid reputation in hospitality, Paris' Edouard VII offers it patron's luxury, convenience and class.
