HOTEL OVERVIEW
Royaltons legendary lobby, long an inspiration for elites of New York fashion and media, is invigorated with handcrafted African touches, graphic fabrics, original murals and the warm glow of a cast-bronze fireplace.
John McDonald, creator of the acclaimed Lever House and Lure Fishbar has furnished Royalton New York Hotel two new meccas for conversation and cuisine: Brasserie 44, an intimate 100 seat restaurant with a modern American menu comprised of seasonal fresh foods and Bar 44, the reincarnation of Royaltons legendary Round Bar, featuring bar and pre-theater menus.
168 over-sized rooms and suites, designed by Charlotte Macaux, feature new furniture and a sophisticated, subdued palette. Plush, built-in banquettes running the entire width of the room and new full-height niches of glossy mahogany bring drama to rooms reminiscent of a posh stateroom on a luxury liner.
Beautiful curtains, crisp white linens, and Starcks sumptuous bathrooms, now glittering with slate and mirrored tiles, complete a new take on old-world glamour, though no trans-Atlantic vessel ever boasted Royaltons five-foot Roman soaking tubs.
