How many hotels can claim that Keanu Reeves, Joan Jett, Vincent Gallo and Little Richard have graced their mattresses
(no, silly, not all at the same time!)? How many hotels are the crash pad and launching pad for world-renowned bands like the Red
Hot Chili Peppers, The Psychedelic Furs and Pearl Jam; and up-and-comers like The Killers, Bloc Party and The Shins? With so much
creative energy swirling around you never know who might be strumming a guitar, posing for a photo shoot or just kicking back by the
pool. The Phoenix Hotel is a landmark, celebrating its 20th year of being San Francisco's world-renowned "rock 'n' roll hotel." Funky,
irreverent, and young-at-heart, The Phoenix isn't for everyone. It's at the edge of the gritty Tenderloin neighborhood. Its central
courtyard is a true crossroads for the creative-a good place to check out visiting artists and entertainers, and a bit noisy at times.
Our restaurant and bar, Bambuddha, is known to provide a high-energy atmosphere that can occasionally be more "bam" than "Buddha."
Even so, The Phoenix has some of the most loyal guests in the world.
The Phoenix Hotel is centrally located within walking distance to San Francisco's most celebrated clubs and performance halls,
including Great American Music Hall, the Warfield, Bill Graham Civic Auditorium, the Opera House, Golden Gate Theater, and the
Orpheum Theater. The government buildings and courthouses of the Civic Center are less than three blocks from the hotel. Fisherman's
Wharf, Chinatown, Union Square and the Financial District are a short ten-minute drive away.
Bambuddha Lounge: Bambuddha Lounge, located in the courtyard of the hip and funky Phoenix Hotel, draws on Filipino, Balinese and Thai influences. The interior marries the natural elements of water, light, and bamboo with jewel tones such as topaz to create a uniquely modern look.
The main dining room at Bambuddha invites the outdoors in, balancing cool and hot elements including floor-to-ceiling waterfalls and indoor/outdoor slate fireplaces. The dinner menu balances exquisite presentation, Southeast Asian-inspired cuisine and reasonable prices.
At Bambuddha, shared plates blur the line between appetizers and entrees and are perfect for sampling the signature flavors of many dishes. Sweet Offerings are the perfect closure to a culinary tour of the Far East. CONTACT: Phoenix Hotel 601 Eddy Street San Francisco, CA 94109 USA
