The STRAF project arose from the need to turn a new page regarding the currently clichéd concept of a "hotel".
STRAF demonstrates a differentiation between the types of rooms and creates difined spaces wich are characterized by materials that are combined according to two main approaches: black slate, or cement combined with burnished brass, with mirrored walls giving an overall effect of space.
The personalized design of the rooms demonstrates macro-decorative elements which, according to aesthetic value, create an effect of expansion for the space by using illusionary perspectives, such as wall panelling and palisades that appear to extend into infinity.
The architectural elements of the rooms with the "well-being" corner blend into this vision, leaving behind technological details in favour of a relaxing, isolated dimension. The individual massage, aroma and chromo therapy areas are within sight but separated from the sleeping area by crystal walls.
This hotel is identified by its alternative to clichés and standardisa-tions. It is a "place of choice" that turns away from production line furnishings. This emphasis is reflected throughout the Hotel, from the bathrooms which are fitted with worn mirrors and designer sinks, to the tailor made chairs, sofas and the lighting.
