The Rio, located off the Las Vegas Strip, was the first all-suite casino in the Las Vegas area. It made its debut in 1990 as a locals' casino, owned and operated by Marnell Corrao Associates. In 1999, the hotel was purchased for $888 million by Las Vegas real estate tycoon, Harrah's Entertainment. The hotel offers more than 2,500 suites ranging from 600 to 13,000 square feet.

Upon entering the Rio, guests will experience a cultural celebration with the Masquerade Show in the Sky. The Masquerade Village showcases Mardi Grad-type floats and Brazilian Carnival dance. The spectacle is a proven crowd pleaser as eager hands reach desperately for the so-called "lucky" beads that are tossed from the floats.

For some outdoor entertainment, the Rio offers one of Sin City's best golf courses available for public access. The Rio Secco Golf Club, located at the foothills of the Black Mountain Range, can play to more than 7,400 yards. Each year taking home a new award, the course features six holes through steep canyons, six on a plateau overlooking the city, and six in a broad desert wash.

The hotel and casino also offers a world famous tropical paradise. Ipanema Beach provides guests with real sand beaches, a tropical lagoon, cascading waterfalls, four swimming pools and five Jacuzzi-style spas. For some extra pampering, check out one of the private cabana rentals, complete with food service and cocktails.

Another hotel highlight is best appreciated by the female persuasion. Chippendales- an all-male burlesque show- provides an ultimate girls night out. Other attractions include the Emmy award-winning comedy Penn & Teller, as well as Tony n' Tina's Wedding- a comedy that blurs the lines between performers and audience.

Guests can spend the night singing, "Little Red Corvette," as legendary icon, Prince, takes the stage at his new self-named nightclub. Other nightlife options include the VooDoo Lounge, Flirt and I-Bar.

From the Mediterranean to South Philly, the Rio boasts a wide range of dining options. Restaurants include Antonio's Italian Ristorante, Cafe Martorano, Gaylord Indian Restaurant, and 3121 Jazz Cuisine. And like any decent Las Vegas hotel and casino, the Rio offers their top-notch Carnival World Buffet.
