Right on the sea front, opposite the picturesque Santa Lucia Harbor, Naples' Grand Hotel Vesuvio is one of the Italy's finest luxury hotels. The hotel first opened its doors to a selected and discerning international clientele in 1882 and for many decades represented the most sought after venue in the city where to host glamorous social gatherings and important cultural events. The second world war resulted in serious damage to the city of Naples and the Grand Hotel Vesuvio was just one of the buildings to be almost completely destroyed in heavy bombing raids. In the immediate post war years, the hotel was rebuilt and two additional floors were added before the Grand Hotel Vesuvius' grand reopening in 1950. The hotel has 163 bedrooms and 17 suites, all beautifully furnished and equipped with every modern comfort. The majority of the rooms have charming balconies or terraces from where to admire spectacular views of the Bay of Naples, Mount Vesuvius, and the island of Capri.

Located on the 9th floor of the hotel, the restaurant opens out on to a panoramic terrace which, during the long warm Neapolitan summer, transforms in enchanting al fresco dining room.
