For travelers who crave a quiet place of distinction, The Surrey hotel in Manhattan's Upper East Side is a great choice. The luxury hotel takes pride in giving each and every guest stellar accommodations, authentic service, and cultural inspiration during their stay.

Built in 1926, The Surrey hotel was originally a residence hotel that has housed celebrities and luminaries through the ages, including JFK, Bette Davis and Claudette Colbert. In it's new life, The Surrey hotel has been reimagined as New York's most intimate address. With a nod to its history, the property is now thoroughly modern thanks to the help of renowned interior designer Lauren Rottet.

Accommodations at The Surrey are categorized as salons and suites, with a penthouse suite and presidential suite. The salons range in size from 330 to 570 square feet and have lots of luxurious features despite their smaller size. Special touches include hand-painted furniture and some also include fireplaces, terraces and deep soaking tubs. In suites, guests can find more space in separate living rooms and some include small kitchens and private terraces. For special events, The Surrey hotel has both a rooftop terrace and an executive meeting room available.

Dining options at The Surrey are just as impressive as the accommodations and service. Chef Daniel Boulud's Café Boulud, open for breakfast lunch and dinner, earned a star in the Michelin Guide and a 3-star review in The New York Times. Each dish is inspired by the famed chef's muses—classic French cuisine, seasonal delicacies, the vegetable garden, and flavors of world cuisines—and has become a favorite with neighborhood locals as well as guests.

Bar Pleiades is the newest Café Boulud addition. Inspired by the style of Coco Chanel, the bar is a mixture of classical cocktails and refined modern touches. With black and white lacquer finishes and quilted paneled walls, the Bar Pleiades is a cozy place to sit back and sip your favorite drink. In keeping with the hotel's promise to make each stay memorable, The Hotel Surrey also has a cocktail program that brings a personal bartender to any guestroom or suite.

For a chance to rejuvinate after a busy day in the city, guests can visit the newly reintroduced Cornelia Spa. A sophisticated approach to the art of indulgence, Cornelia Spa includes face, massage, and body treatments, waxing, manicures and pedicures in a unique urban setting.
