When Tilda Swinton played the White Which in Director Andrew Adamson’s adaptation of The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, you could argue that she made living in an ice home seem pretty cool. If the chilling witch ever got you think about how you’d design your own accommodations made of the frosty element, you could soon have the chance to make those daydreams a reality.

Being offered at Icehotel Sweden is a $227,000 per night package that allows guests to work with one of the hotel’s in-house designers to tailor-make a suite. For the past 25 years, the hotel which is only open from December through April, has called upon renowned designers and artists from around the world to build the actual structure. And since February 1 of this year, clients have been getting the opportunity to create a haute couture suite alongside the property’s team.

Gathering hundreds of artists each year, the Jukkasjärvi hotel reviews applications from designers before selecting a handful to custom-build their hotel and its suites. While some may be new to working with snow or ice, others have been part of the process for years. The rooms, made into ovals, are each filled with the right amount of snow and ice to start. After eight weeks of working through drawings, calculations and constructing the right shapes, the suites come to life.

Guests hoping to create their own suite will be able to work with some of the best innovators out there as they watch their ideas come to life. After March, and once the Icehotel closes shop, the suite will melt away and clients will receive a bottle containing some of the melted water from their accommodation. Along with the liquid, they will get the sketches, blueprints and photographs of their design.

During the four months that it is open, the hotel will see around 50,000 people come through its doors from 80 different countries. While the price tag is hefty, rest assured that partial proceeds will be donated to environmental initiatives in the Baltic Sea.
