For the suites, the luxury property brought together some of the city’s best designers including Nate Berkus Associates, Meyer Davis Studio, Inc., Rottet Studio and Haynes-Roberts, Inc. Each space was created to offer a balance between traditional and contemporary as well as a sense of place on Park Avenue with a modern sensibility.

“We wanted to offer guests several distinct experiences with the Signature Suites,” says Jonathan Tisch, Chairman of Loews Hotels & Resorts. “Each suite embodies a unique perspective and aesthetic, but together they represent a collective New York look and feel that Loews Regency has always evoked, and that is part of the special energy that has made the hotel a home away from home for guests for over 50 years.”

Rottet Studio

Inspired by Marilyn Monroe, international architecture and design firm Rottet Studio designed the two Grand Suites. Interpreting what might have been Marilyn’s Park Avenue pied-à-terre, Rottet crafted Suite 1620, The Glamour Suite, to show how she may have lived during her glamour days in NYC. Soft indirectly-lit Streamline Moderne shapes and flowing lines decorate the room with a continuous cove light ceiling in the living room and a Wenge-clad wall behind the 55-inch TV. The bedroom features a pink leather, diamond-studded headboard.

In the second Pop Art Suite, Rottet played off of artist Andy Warhol’s depiction of the American actress, model, singer and sex symbol. Featuring black and white architectural finishes inspired by ad-based Pop Art graphics and comic books, a custom-designed carpet flowing from the living room into the bedroom and a pastel-lacquered wardrobe wall, the room is saturated with pops of color and bold designs.

Nate Berkus

The dashingly handsome, interior designer and television personality Nate Berkus is behind The Signature Suites on the 21st floor. Taking in the hotel’s location and the property’s rich history, Berkus created a suite that feels homey while still having that distinct Big Apple style. With patinated metals and sand-blasted oak flooring, the 1,000-square-foot residence features a kitchen, dining room, formal living room, bedroom and a balcony.

“What a great project!” Nate Berkus said. “The challenge in designing any hotel suite is for it to not feel generic or staid. The goal is always to create a space that feels fresh and new and unexpected, like you’re stepping into someone’s home, where every detail – from the art, to the accessories on the hall table – is thought out and deliberate.”

Haynes-Roberts, Inc.

Basing their designs and interiors off of the glamorous apartments of Milan from the 1970s, Haynes-Roberts, Inc., a Manhattan-based residential interior design firm, created a space that is sophisticated, classic and luxurious. Velvet headboards mix with suede walls and large vintage ceramic lamps in the bedrooms and a well-curated selection of art and vintage furniture complete suite.

Meyer Davis Studio Inc.

Located on the 20th and 21st floors, the the Uptown Bohemian and Bespoke suites were designed by Meyer Davis Studio Inc. Helmed by Will Meyer and Gray Davis, the rooms were inspired by SoHo and the clean lines of Chelsea to Park Avenue, and the city’s fashion industry, respectively. Inside the Boho suite, the city’s contemporary art scene comes to life with tinted plaster walls and bold furnishings are reminiscent of Julian Schnabel and the light airy backdrop suggests the SoHo lofts of artists like Donald Judd. With a nod to designers like Halston and Geoffrey Beene, the Bespoke suite is all about the details. Careful stitching, tailored finishing and stylish furnishings are the basis of this residence.
