The Four Seasons Resort Scottsdale At Troon North Is A True Desert Oasis

Four Seasons

Last year, the Four Seasons Resort Scottsdale at Troon North unveiled a massive $13 million renovation that now boasts an updated lobby, renovations to the more than 200 private casitas, modernized furnishings for the pool areas and a reinvented restaurant.

We recently visited the 40-acre property to check out the updates to this luxury southwestern style resort that truly encompasses the natural beauty of the Sonoran Desert. From margarita tastings at the Saguaro Blossom Pool to the unparalleled Pinnacle Peak rock formation views from the terrace or balcony of each of its 210 guest rooms and suites that overlook acres of beautiful desert blooms, the sprawling resort remains one of the best in Scottsdale.

Each private adobe casita features an indoor beehive gas fireplace, private balcony or patio, soaking tub and separate glass-enclosed shower. (Suites have private plunge pools and outdoor showers). There is also a full-service spa on-site offering massage and body treatments as well as the world class Troon North Golf Club, regularly recognized as one of the top golf clubs in the United States.

Whether you choose to do everything or nothing, that’s the biggest decision you will have to make during your stay. After breakfast in your casita (or at Proof, an American Canteen), sign up for a morning fitness class, which includes a 45-minute “mindful walk” to enjoy the beauty of the Sonoran Desert designed to reinvigorate the body and calm the mind. Other classes offered here feature spinning, Yogalates (a combination of yoga and Pilates) and abs, arms stretch.

Service here remains exceptional yet not intrusive with staff readily available to tend to every guest’s needs. Head over to the pool, reserve a private cabana and enjoy a leisurely afternoon in one of the new chaise lounges.

Be sure to make a dinner reservation at Talavera, the resort’s reinvented signature restaurant headed up by James Beard Award-nominated Chef Samantha Sanz. The former steakhouse has been transformed into a Spanish concept menu featuring her standout paella overflowing with chorizo, prawns, mussels and clams. Finish your visit off with a nightcap at the adjacent Gin Bar.

This fall, be sure to keep an eye out for the resort’s Candlelight Yoga Series where guests can enjoy yoga at sunset and then stay for a glass of wine under the stars.
