To celebrate the Wimbledon tournament (June 20-July 3), the Royal Garden Hotel will be paying homage to some well known tennis stars - in its kitchen. Nick Hollands, pastry chef at the five-star venue, is working hard to create models of the sports players using the sugar-based dough pastillage.
The menu also includes assorted freshly prepared finger sandwiches and freshly baked raisin and cinnamon scones, served with Devonshire clotted cream and homemade preserves. The Wimbledon Champagne Afternoon Tea will also be available at the hotel, including the above plus a glass of either Canard-Duchêne Champagne or a Pimm's cocktail for £32pp.
Afternoon Tea at The Royal Garden Hotel has been recognised by the Tea Council's Tea Guild, for meeting an exceptionally high standard and complying with afternoon tea etiquette. The Wimbledon Afternoon Tea will be on sale from June 20-July 3, with £1 from every tea sold being donated to the Save the Children charity. For more details visit RoyalGardenHotel.co.uk.
