‘Tis the season for gift-giving and receiving; and when it comes to the former, there’s one type of present that will almost always put a smile on your loved one’s face: travel. Next fall, Natural Habitat Adventures has just the trip for nature lovers taking place in Greenland from August 1-9, August 9-18, August 18-26 and August 26–September 3. The nine-day, eight-night excursion is open to only 12 travelers and includes luxury glamping in the arctic wilderness.

“Till now, Greenland’s remote east coast, carved by glaciers and rent by deep fjords filled with icebergs, has been inaccessible to all but the hardiest travelers,” said Ben Bressler, Natural Habitat’s founder and president. “Base Camp Greenland is changing that.”

Starting and ending in Reykjavik, Iceland, the group is flown to Kulusuk, Greenland before transferring by helicopter to Tasiilaq. Three days later travelers will arrive at Base Camp Greenland on Sermilik Fjord. Known as the Arctic Riviera, the area offers the country’s most dramatic scenery and guests will get to explore traditional Inuit villages, participate in whale watching and discover new landscapes through guided hikes led by Natural Habitat Expedition Leaders.

Set up like a deluxe African-safari-style camp, accommodations will be in private tents which will include beds with duvets and pillows, heating, en suite toilets and washbasins, carpet and verandas. And don’t worry, hot showers are only a few feet away. For dining options, a chef will prepare all meals for guests and will be served in a common area at the camp.
