Carnival Cruises CEO and owner of the NBA’s Miami Heat Micky Arison and his wife, Madeline Arison, will present an auction of ultra-luxury goods and merchandise in conjunction with their sponsored event, Destination Fashion 2012. The pre-event auction, which will benefit The Buoniconti Fund to Cure Paralysis, begins this Thursday, October 25, at 5:30 p.m. Eastern time. The Buoniconti Fund to Cure Paralysis is the fundraising arm of The Miami Project to Cure Paralysis. The special sale will close on Saturday, November 10 at 10 p.m. Eastern time, at the Bal Harbour Shops
Luxury shops of the upscale Bal Harbour Shops will donate items for the Destination Fashion. Jeweler Harry Winston will donate a diamond timepiece valued at $34,800, while Tiffany & Co. will offer a pair of Buckle Earrings from its Legacy Collection with a value of $11,400. There is a Hawaiian getaway from Trina Turk, valued at more than $8,000, which includes five nights at the St. Regis Princeville Resort. French fine watchmaker Breguet is donating a three-night trip for two to Paris with an accompanying value of $35,000. Ferragamo will provide shoes for the year, offering a new pair of woman’s shoes for 12 consecutive months. All of the items will be available for viewing at the various Bal Harbour Shops.
"Destination Fashion is one of the most anticipated events in the South Florida area," said Marc Buoniconti, president of The Buoniconti Fund to Cure Paralysis. "We are thrilled with the overwhelming support from Bal Harbour Shops, which has allowed us to return and produce this one-of-a-kind affair in the name of finding a cure for paralysis." NBC News host Tom Brokaw will be the master of ceremonies of Destination Fashion. The show also will include a performance by musical star Enrique Iglesias. Honorary co-chairs include actor Tommy Lee Jones and his wife, Dawn Jones, as well as international polo player “Nacho” Figueras and his wife, Delfina Blaquier.
Additionally, Saks Fifth Avenue Bal Harbour will present the Peter Dundas designed Emilio Pucci's Spring 2013 Fashion Show. Tickets to attend Destination Fashion at the Bal Harbour Shops on November 10, 2012, are for sale at $300 each through The Buoniconti Fund.
