Fine Dining: Famed Manhattan hotspot Mr Chow celebrates 30 years at its chic 57th Street digs this fall, and will kick off a six week long champagne celebration beginning next month. Restaurateur Michael Chow opened his namesake eatery in 1979 following the success of his London and Beverly Hills outposts. The glamorous dining spot became famous for playing host to the city's elite, including artists like Andy Warhol and Jean Michelle Basquiat, as well as Hollywood's biggest names, including Madonna, Robert DeNiro, Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes, Uma Thurman, and Sean Penn, among many others. Mr Chow will show their appreciation to its devoted clientele by presenting a complimentary bottle of Laurent Perrier Rosé champagne to each table between November 4th-December 15th, 2009.
The 30th anniversary comes on the heels of the opening of Mr Chow's fifth location in Miami at W South Beach. The most recent addition to the Chow-empire opened its doors in August and has quickly become one of the area's most sought after reservations. Each Mr Chow restaurant reflects Chow's personal touches, from the Michael Chow-designed interiors, decorated with pieces from his incredible collection of contemporary art, to the staff's Armani Black Label attire hand selected by his wife Eva Chow. The pair, who are known for entertaining lavishly at their incredible Los Angeles mansion, enlists renowned chefs from China to ensure the integrity of the cuisine and deliver the most authentic dining experience possible.
