The Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum is a wonderful way to learn about ships, jets, and shuttles. There are many interactive exhibits throughout the facility devoted to the country's heroes and achievements, as well as a handful of flight simulators. Welcoming more than one million visitors a year, the Museum uses history and technology to inspire and advance innovation by developing the next generation of leaders in science, technology, engineering, and math.
The name of the museum comes from the aircraft carrier that is home to the entire collection. This massive ship served in World War II and was also the primary recovery vessel for several of NASA's space shuttle missions.
