New York Culture: The Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum is a wonderful way to learn about ships, jets, and shuttles. There are many interactive exhibits throughout the facility devoted to the country's heroes and achievements, as well as a handful of flight simulators.
The name of the museum comes from the aircraft carrier that is home to the entire collection. This massive ship served in World War II and was also the primary recovery vessel for several of NASA's space shuttle missions.
